Grown Ups (2010): Another Not so Funny Happy Madison Production
I decided to write a little review about Adam Sandler’s latest movie Grown Ups, another not so funny film from Happy Madison Productions. I had high expectations for this movie, after all it had three Top Comedians in it’s cast that usually make me laugh: Adam Sandler, Kevin James and Chris Rock.
Now I like Adam Sandler, one of my favorite comedy movies still to this day is Happy Gilmore from 1999. This movie had me laughing in tears, I’ve watched this movie so many times, me and my friends & family used to rewind certain parts of the movie, because Adam Sandler was so hilarious. Honestly, there wasn’t one movie after this, that was on the same level with Happy Gilmore. Sure, Adam Sandler had a couple other good plays such as The Wedding Singer and I did laugh on certain occasions in other movies, but nothing had me ever laughing as hard as Happy Gilmore. Every time, when a new Happy Madison Production is on it’s way, I can’t wait to see it, because I hope and still have faith that Adam Sandler will have me laughing in tears again.
Kevin James, the true King of Queens didn’t deliver any hard laughs for me neither. I would say it is the same in his case, nothing ever topped the humor of one of the best comedy series started in 1998 – The King of Queens. Now, just like with his buddy Adam Sandler – I still have faith in you too. I know there will never be another King Of Queens, but maybe you guys could come up with something similar?
Chris Rock, to this date one of my favorite Stand Up Comedians. When it comes to Stand Up Comedy, Chris always delivers. I’m sorry to say Chris, that as an actor you’re just not as funny. I think I love my wife was alright, your performance in Grown Ups as a bitchy stay at home dad just made feel sad. However I love you as a Stand Up comedian and can’t wait to see another fabulous Chris Rock performance.
Salma Hayek is as hot and sexy as ever being 43 years old, but that did not help the script
This film was a waste of talent. Now don’t get me wrong, the movie is not entirely bad. It does have it’s Kodak moments – Classic Adam Sandler humor. It seems there is a serious lack of quality control when I look at the films that have been released by Happy Madison Productions. I think they have what it takes to make a great comedy movie, especially in their circle of friends. I got the impression that the script was written on a Las Vegas Trip, where everyone got wasted and then just went on to shoot the movie without further testing of their jokes. Please upgrade Happy Madison Productions to another level.
A honest review from a fan – I think it was time for a complaint.

I like all three of these actors. Unfortunately, it seems that Sandler and Rock are becoming “stale.” Comedy character actors don’t do as well as normal character actors. People want something new…even though Billy Madison was one of the greatest movies ever. LOL
